Company Updates

We had the privilege of welcoming the UK Government’s Business & Trade Select Committee to Gibson Robotics for an engaging discussion on industrial strategy, innovation, and the future of the Defence & Security sector.

The committee joined Gibson Robotics at our Glasgow offices on Monday 17th March, in the afternoon. We were honoured to showcase the cutting-edge counter-drone technology we’ve been developing and share our perspective as an SME in Scotland working at the forefront of aerospace innovation and manufacturing.

Joining us for the session was Thistle Rocketry, who delivered an insightful presentation alongside ours, adding further depth to the conversation about the role of advanced aerospace systems in national security. The discussions that followed were in-depth, productive, and crucial; shedding light on both the opportunities and challenges SMEs face in the UK’s Defence & Security sector with a particular focus on manufacturing.

To round off the day, we took the committee on a tour of the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) facilities, highlighting our ongoing collaboration with NMIS and the University of Strathclyde. The visit reinforced the importance of strong partnerships between industry, academia, and government in driving forward the UK’s defence capabilities.

A huge thank you to Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP, John Cooper MP, Sarah Edwards MP, Charlie Maynard MP, and Rosie Wrighting MP from the Business & Trade Select Committee for taking the time to engage with us and to our partners for their continued support. We look forward to building on these conversations and shaping the future of aerospace and security together.
